With reference to your letter of the 20th
November, No.F.6315/1629/10, concerning the proposed
removal of the existing naval magazines at Hong Kong
to a new site, I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners
of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information
of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, that they
observe that reference is made to the " new fortifications",
whereas the removal is only in respect of magazines.

My Lords concur that it is unnecessary to
inform the Powers signatory to the Washington Treaty
of the proposed arrangement.
